Bike Wall Mount

Bikes take floor space that a wall could carry. Be realistic about load though: a road bike is around 8 kg and a full-suspension e-bike can be 25 kg, which is well past what printed plastic should hold alone.

Fits: Road, hybrid and light mountain bikes

What actually matters

  • Orientation is not optional here. Printed back-plate-down the layers resist the shear load; printed on its side the hook peels apart at a layer line under a bike's weight.
  • Screw into studs. Drywall anchors and a hanging bike is how you get a hole in your wall and a damaged bike.
  • For an e-bike, do not use printed plastic. Buy a steel hanger — 25 kg is beyond what this should carry.

Questions

How much weight can it really take?

Around 12 kg in PETG with five perimeters and 60% infill, mounted into a stud. That covers most road and hybrid bikes, not e-bikes.

Will it scratch the frame?

Line the hook with a rubber sleeve or heat-shrink. Bare plastic against paint marks over time.

Need it in a different size, or with more slots?
