Seed Starting Tray

Bought seed trays crack after a season. A printed one lasts, and more importantly you can size the cells to what you actually grow — tomatoes want depth, lettuce does not.

Fits: Windowsills and standard propagators

Make this one yours. Cadio generates it to your measurements — change the size, slot count, or angle by describing what you need.

What actually matters

  • Do not skip the drainage holes. Seedlings in waterlogged cells damp off within days.
  • Deeper cells for anything you will not transplant quickly. 60 mm suits tomatoes; 35 mm is plenty for salad leaves.
  • PETG rather than PLA. Constantly damp PLA goes soft and starts to smell after a few weeks.

Questions

Is printed plastic safe for growing food?

The tray holds soil, not food, and seedlings get transplanted. For anything you eat directly out of, use food-safe containers.

Can I make bigger cells?

Yes — set the cell size and count when you generate. Watch the total footprint against your build plate.

Need it in a different size, or with more slots?
